Students and teachers across Delhi participated in a safety mock drill on Wednesday to strengthen emergency preparedness amid rising security threats.

The exercise, named Operation Abhyaas, was conducted in 55 locations with support from DDMA, civil defence, home guards, and youth groups like NCC and NSS.

The drill began with a siren, prompting students to switch off appliances and take shelter under desks before evacuating calmly with bags on their heads.

The initiative followed MHA’s directive after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, highlighting the need to prepare students for “new and complex threats.”

At Tagore International School, students watched instructional videos to better understand evacuation protocols and were reassured of the nation's safety systems.
