John Cena created history by winning his 17th world championship in the main event of Wrestlemania 41. He defeated Cody Rhodes to etch his name in the record books. Cena is set to retire in December 2025. In the storyline, Cena wants to retire with the title, but in reality, he will surely have no problem losing it to a superstar. Cena is likely to retain the title for few months. Here, we have a look at 3 superstars who can defeat John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship -
Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes is the top contender to defeat John Cena and regain the Undisputed WWE Championship. He is still the face of WWE and the company would want Cody to win the title by defeating Cena. The win would start Cody's second run as the champion.
WWE could book Cena to turn into a babyface during the same match as he is unlikely to retire as a heel. While nothing is confirmed, their match could take place at SummerSlam.
CM Punk and John Cena had an iconic rivalry for the WWE Championship. Punk returned as the WWE Champion when Cena was also the champion and defeated him again. Over a decade later, Punk could once again defeat Cena for the title.
Both superstars are advertised for Money in the Bank 2025 and their match could take place at the premium live event scheduled to take place in June.
WWE could also consider Bron Breakker for this job. The former Intercontinental Champion is set for a mega push as he has joined Seth Rollins' newly formed faction.
Rollins, who won a title early in his WWE career, could propel Breakker to the top by helping him win the championship. A win for Breakker will establish him as a big face in WWE and complete his journey to the top. Rollins has already won world titles and he probably doesn't need another title run at this stage.
