India on Thursday dismissed claims on social media about a drone attack in Punjab's Jalandhar. In Jalandhar, some drones were spotted but were neutralised around 11:20 pm by security forces. In an X (formerly Twitter) post, the Press Information Bureau's Fact-Checking Unit said that an old and unrelated video was being shared online.
"Drone Attack in Jalandhar⁉️ This drone strike video from #Jalandhar is widely circulating on social media. This is an unrelated video of a farm fire. The video has the time 7:39 PM, while the drone attack began later," PIB Fact-Check Unit posted on X (formerly Twitter).
