New Delhi: The Directorate of Civil Defence will conduct a routine testing of air raid sirens at the Public Works Department (PWD) headquarters in ITO today. The test will begin at 3:00 PM and is expected to last for 15 to 20 minutes.
Officials have clarified that this is a scheduled exercise and not an emergency. Citizens in the area may hear loud sirens during the test, but they are advised to remain calm and not panic.
‘’The testing will commence at 3.00 PM and be carried out for a period of 15-20 minutes. Accordingly, it is requested that adequate publicity may be made through social and electronic media so that general public are advised to stay calm and not to panic during the said exercise,’’ the circular issued read.
