Kangana Ranaut To Make Hollywood Debut With Horror Film Blessed Be The Evil; Details Inside

Blessed Be the Evil will be directed by Anurag Rudra, who also co-wrote the script with Gatha Tiwary, president and founder of Lions Movies. Both Rudra and Tiwary are onboard as producers. Renowned cinematographer Wade Muller (Elephant White, Occupation: Rainfall) will serve as the director of photography.

The film’s plot revolves around a Christian couple grappling with the loss of a child after a miscarriage. Seeking a fresh start, they purchase an abandoned farm, only to find themselves tormented by a malevolent force. Described as a deeply emotional and chilling tale, the film explores themes of love, loss, and faith in the face of evil.

Director Rudra revealed that his inspiration came from Indian folklore passed down during his childhood in rural India. “Being born and spending my childhood in rural India, I was told stories that got embedded in my mind and heart. This folklore was so special that I truly believed in all the stories, and wanted to showcase them internationally through the art of cinema – the strongest and most beautiful way to connect to dreams and reality."

Tiwary added that Blessed Be The Evil offers “unprecedented suspense and drama” and sees “great potential for international markets, both in streaming and theatrical distribution.”

Kangana Ranaut is a renowned Bollywood actress. The National Award winner was last seen in her directorial venture Emergency. The film didn't work at the box office, but Kangana received immense praise for her role as Indira Gandhi. She is also an active politician, currently serving as a Member of Parliament in India’s Lok Sabha.
