China Turn To AI-Powered Slogans To Fuel Their Sudirman Cup Campaign
With 13 titles China are the most successful side in the history of the Sudirman Cup. Only two other countries - South Korea and Indonesia - have won the prestigious tournament apart from China—such is their dominance. Playing at home, the Chinese players turned to AI to make their campaign memorable.

China are the mightiest side in badminton, and at the ongoing Sudirman Cup in Xiamen, China, the 13-time champions are leaving no stone unturned to extend their domination in the World Mixed Team Championships. Only two other countries - South Korea and Indonesia - have won the prestigious tournament apart from China - such is their dominance.
For this year's edition at home, China have turned to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make their campaign experience in front of packed houses more exciting.
Jia Yifan, the Paris Olympics gold medal-winning women's doubles player, told state-run CGTN, “Our pre-match team slogan was AI-powered. I asked Zheng Yu for help, and she suggested I use #DeepSeek. The gesture was finalised after brainstorming with Shi Yuqi.”

However, it is not exactly known what slogans they are using to keep the players motivated on court while encouraging fans to cheer for them. But their idea of creating new slogans for the campaign is the new buzz at the Championships.
The Chinese players were seen flaring their palms to show the ‘5’ sign, with Shi Yuqi, Chen Yufei, Chen Qingchen, Jia Yifan and Huang Dongping playing their fifth Sudirman Cup.
“We all loved it,” said Chen Qingchen, Jia's women's doubles partner. Jia Yifan said, “Proud to make my 5th Sudirman Cup Finals. Cai Yun did seven. But five times? That is still something to celebrate!” Qingchen quipped: “2029—Jia Yifan may still be here!”
China handed Algeria a 5-0 defeat. After the win, Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Chen Yufei said, “At the Paris Olympics, I could not settle my mind. I lost without being able to fully showcase what I had worked on for 3 years. That’s why it’s so hard to swallow. Now my focus is on #LA28. It’s very important to trust the process. Losing in team events hits especially hard because the mental pressure is greater. But what truly matters is how you grow from these setbacks."
“Playing at home, with teammates cheering from the sidelines, and the audience supporting us, it will definitely boost our performance on the court," said Shi Yuqi.
Meanwhile, the mixed doubles pairing of Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin are making their Sudirman Cup debut. They said: “I hope to show my best in the tournament and contribute points to the team,” while men’s doubles mainstays and immensely popular Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang said, “We want to play in every match, but we also need to manage our energy properly.”
World No.1 women's doubles pair, Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, will also make their debut—at just 21.
With immense depth in the squad, China are well on course to dominate the Sudirman Cup, and the AI-powered slogans are just fuelling their desire to triumph at home.
