Pakistan's Bizarre Cover-up Bid: 'Didn't Intercept Indian Drones So That Our Locations Are Not Revealed' | WATCH

After Pakistan was left red-faced following India's retaliatory drone strikes across multiple locations, Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif attempted to save face in the parliament. Addressing the session on Friday, Khawaja Asif presented a strange logic and claimed that Pakistan did not intercept Indian drones on purpose, so as to avoid their locations from being "leaked".

"Yesterday, the drone attack by India was done to detect our locations. I can not explain technical things, but we did not intercept their drones so that our locations can not be located or leaked," the Pakistan Defence Minister said.

Just days ago, Khawaja Asif had made a blatant attempt to spread misinformation by linking his country's claim of shooting down Indian fighter jets during India's Operation Sindoor to unverified reports circulating on social media. In an interview with CNN, Asif made the bizarre remark when questioned about whether Pakistan possessed any concrete evidence to back the claim.

"It is all on social media, and Indian social media, not our social media. The debris of the jets fell on their side. It is all over the Indian media," Pakistan's Defence Minister said when the interviewer asked for the proof.

Days after India's Operation Sindoor, which dismantled Pakistan's terror camps, the rattled nation launched a barrage of missile and drone attacks in several parts of Jammu & Kashmir and border states on May 8, in an attempt to target the Jammu air base, an army installation, the Jammu University, and other critical civilian infrastructure.

The Indian Army successfully intercepted and neutralised these attacks, while the Border Security Force (BSF) also foiled a major infiltration attempt in the Samba sector.

In retaliation, India launched a strong counteroffensive, neutralising Pakistan's air defence radars and systems across multiple locations, including Lahore, Sialkot, Karachi, and Islamabad. Five Pakistan jets were also briught downed—two JF-17s, one F-16, and one unidentified aircraft—amid the nation's repeated provocations along the border.
