Is Seo Yea-Ji Making Acting Comeback After 3 Years? Timeline Of Her Controversies - From Kim Soo-Hyun To Kim Jung-Hyun

Seo Yea-Ji is making her small screen comeback with a horror-thriller TV show titled Forest Of Humans. This is after three years of her last appearance, and follows the Korean star recently getting caught up in the ongoing dating scandal between Kim Sae-Ron and her It's Okay To Not Be Okay co-star Kim Soo-Hyun. Yea-Ji was last seen onscreen in Netflix revenge drama Eve.

On May 8, Spotv News reported that the actress is currently in discussions to star in the upcoming drama that is said to be based on a popular horror webtoon. It stated that the webtoon earned high ratings despite its mature content. Forest Of Humans is currently in the process of getting its OTT release sorted.

As per the synopsis, the webtoon revolves around a secret containment facility designed to house psychopathic murderers for experimental purposes. When the facility’s systems fail, it collapses into horrific chaos, unleashing violent criminals into the world who embark on a desperate battle for survival.

Seo Yea-Ji's fans expressed happiness over the development. One user wrote on X, "She's was too good to be cancelled by the industry when the one who cause her downfall is still being protected by media and gvt." Another one wrote, "I cannot wait to watch her. She's got such a unique presence." A fan couldn't contain their happiness, "I'm literally sobbing, I miss her soo much." A comment read, "She always pick different and good projects. Can't wait for this."

Seo Yea-Ji took a break from acting after she got accused of gaslighting her former boyfriend, actor Kim Jung-Hyun. It started in April 2021 when she received backlash for allegedly controlling and manipulating his behaviour during the filming of his 2018 K-drama Time. At that time, she was represented by Kim Soo-Hyun's agency Goldmedalist.

Her last project Eve released in 2022 before she went on a hiatus. In 2024, she signed an exclusive contract with management firm Sublime looking for a fresh start. She started making public appearances after a long haul of low profile too, including a guest spot on SNL Korea.

More recently, Yea-Ji found herself back in the news when a former employee of Goldmedalist alleged that Yea-Ji was used as a scapegoat to cover up problems involving Soo-Hyun and the company. Seo Yea-Ji reacted to claims stating she was no longer associated with the actor.
