Valued at $273.6 billion, Elon Musk, 50, currently occupies the top slot at Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires list. Musk founded some of the most revolutionary companies on the planet—from PayPal, which made it easier to send money across the globe to Tesla, which triggered a shift from fossil fuels-powered vehicles to electric vehicles. Among other companies that the centi-billionaire owns, SpaceX, is the only private space-technology company capable of returning a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit, and flying reusable rockets. Musk recently acquired a 9.2% stake in micro-blogging platform Twitter and followed it up with a hostile bid to acquire the rest of the company.
