Goldberg And More? 3 WWE Superstars Who Can Return At Backlash 2025

WWE will stage its first premium live event since Wrestlemania 41 on May 10. WWE Backlash will take place in St Louis, which is Randy Orton's home. Randy will be in the main event of the show and challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship. While the majority of attention will be on the matches, WWE fans can expect a few returns. Here, we have a look at WWE superstars who can return at WWE Backlash -

Goldberg could make a shock return at WWE Backlash to save Pat McAfee, who is scheduled to face Gunther. The former Universal Champion is set to retire from in-ring action in 2025. WWE teased a match between Gunther and Goldberg when the WWE Hall of Famer made an appearance at Bad Blood 2024.

Gunther doesn't have the World Heavyweight Championship now and WWE can stage a one-on-one match between them. The match could take place at SummerSlam or an overseas event.

Cody Rhodes has been on a break from WWE since losing at Wrestlemania 41 but he is set to make his return in May. Cody could make a return after the match between John Cena and Randy Orton at Backlash. He is confirmed to perform at Money in the Bank 2025 and Cody could be back a month before the event.

Cody is likely to challenge Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam or in his farewell match. Cena will step aside from in-ring action in December 2025.

Bronson Reed has been out of WWE since getting injured during the WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024. He is likely to make his WWE return this year and Bronson could surprise one and all by returning at Backlash. He could go after the Intercontinental Championship or the United States Championship. Bronson was in a storyline with Seth Rollins last year but that is unlikely to resume.
