The Pune-Bengaluru Expressway is an access-controlled, green highway that connects Maharashtra and Karnataka. The 700-km expressway is expected to reduce the distance between Pune and Bangalore. Presently, it takes approximately 15 hours to drive from Pune to Bangalore. But with the Pune-Bangalore expressway becoming functional, it will take only about 7 hours to cover the distance between the two cities.
The Pune-Bangalore Expressway will begin in Karnataka from Bommanal, Athani Taluk.
In Karnataka it will pass through districts of:
- Belagavi District (Athai)
- Jamakhandi
- Bagalkot
- Badami
- Mudhol
- Nargund
- Gadag District (Ron)
- Yelaburga, Koppal District
- Vijayanagara District (Kudligi)
- Davangere (Jagaluru)
- Madhugiri
- Chitradurga Taluk
- Koratagere
- Nelamangala
- Tumakuru District
- Bangalore Rural District, including Doddalballpur
In Maharashtra, the Pune to Bangalore Expressway will begin from Kanjle on the proposed Pune Ring Road. It will pass through:
- Pune
- Sangli
- Satara district

The upcoming Pune-Bangalore Expressway is poised to bring transformative changes to the residential and commercial real estate landscape of adjoining regions. With enhanced infrastructure, areas like Nashik, Kolhapur, and Satara are expected to witness significant economic growth and increased development activity, as per a Magic Bricks report.The expressway is also set to streamline commercial operations and boost trade by easing congestion on existing highways that handle traffic from Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat, and other key locations.
