Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan's Courtroom Drama Crosses Rs 50 Crore

After a long wait, Akshay Kumar starrer much-awaited film of 2025 - Kesari Chapter 2 finally released in theatres on April 18. The movie is a hard-hitting courtroom drama helmed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The powerful film chronicles the tale of C. Sankaran Nair, the fearless lawyer who took on the British Empire after the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919.

The movie received a roaring response at the box office in its initial days, and after completing one week of a successful run, Kesari Chapter 2 crossed the coveted Rs 50 crore mark on its eighth day, which is impressive.

According to early box office estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, Kesari 2 wrapped week 1 by raking in Rs 46.1 Crore. And on Day 8, the film's witnessed a rise in the number of footfalls. The movie's collection on day 8 is Rs 4.15 crore, which takes the total collection of the courtroom drama to Rs 50.25 crore.

So far, the movie has been performing well thanks to the positive word of mouth. The movie needs to maintain momentum, especially when a strong player like Sunny Deol's Jaat is in te box office race too. Interestingly, in the coming weeks, Kesari Chapter 2 will face stiff competition from new players like Emraan Hashmi’s action Ground Zero and Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2.

Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Kesari Chapter 2 serves as a spiritual successor to the 2019 patriotic hit Kesari. This chapter dives into courtroom battles, with Akshay Kumar portraying the bold and relentless lawyer C. Sankaran Nair. R. Madhavan steps into the shoes of British barrister R. Neville McKinley, while Ananya Panday takes on the role of a young, determined lawyer named Dilreet Gill.

The film struck a chord upon release, earning praise from several Bollywood stars, including Ektaa Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Sunny Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and Suniel Shetty.
