Krishna Kakani (KK for short) and Times go back years. He started out as a contributing writer for the Pune sub-paper and special editions in 2018, before taking Symbiosis International University’s Journalism programme.

KK then interned in digital media, published investigative environmental news reports, wrote for a sports podcast and briefly worked full-time as Sub-Editor in 2021.

A few months later, he made an unlikely career choice: Trending news. This brought him to Times Now, where he was a generalist Copywriter for three years.

KK brought a touch of whimsy to the newsfeed with offbeat stories, those of conservation, and commentary on show business and cricket.

His interests include wildlife, climate change, rock music, astronomy and linguistics.

While not one for reductive self-characterisation, KK does identify as an atheist, existentialist, and progressive.
