MUMBAI

Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra, is the second-most populous city in the country after Delhi and the eighth-most populous city in the world with a population of around two crore. The 'Maximum City' lies at the Konkan coast and is house to the highest number of millionaires and billionaires in the country.

Mumbai has three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Elephanta Caves, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, and the city's distinctive ensemble of Victorian and Art Deco buildings designed in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Mumbai is often seen as the financial capital of India having generated more than 6 per cent of the country's total GDP and accounting for 25 per cent of industrial output. It is also home to some of India's premier scientific and nuclear institutes. Last but not the least, Mumbai is famous for being home to the Hindi film industry, popularly referred to as Bollywood.
