Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) received a chilling email from an ID identified as ‘Pakistan JK’, with a terse but dangerous message, “We will blast your stadium.”
The threat, lacking any elaboration, was immediately forwarded to the Ahmedabad Police. In response, senior officials and the bomb disposal squad rushed to the stadium premises in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The stadium, which is set to host two upcoming IPL matches, was swept thoroughly as part of a full-scale security check and bomb search operation. So far, no suspicious devices have been found, but security around the venue has been significantly heightened.
India’s Strike, Pakistan’s Provocation
The threat comes on the heels of heightened national security following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 innocent tourists were gunned down by terrorists reportedly asking for their religion before opening fire.
In a powerful response, the Indian government launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, an airstrike that reportedly neutralised around 90 terrorists in PoK, striking a strong blow to Pakistan-based terror networks. Sources confirm that these strikes were carried out with precision, sending a clear message that India will not tolerate terrorism on any front.
IPL Matches and Public Safety
With thousands expected to gather at the Narendra Modi Stadium for upcoming IPL games, the threat email is being taken with utmost seriousness. Security agencies are not leaving anything to chance, especially in the context of the current geopolitical tensions.Local police, along with national intelligence agencies, are investigating the origin of the email and are tracking the digital footprint of the sender. Officials have assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure safety, and additional personnel are being deployed for future matches.
