Noida Metro: Girl Dies By Suicide At Golf Course Metro Station
Noida: A 25-year-old woman died by suicide on Monday after jumping in front of a metro train at Golf Course Metro Station in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Confirming the incident, Gautam Buddha Nagar DCP Ram Badan Singh said, "A short while ago, we received information that a 25-year-old girl committed suicide by jumping in front of the metro at Golf Course Metro Station. Police reached the spot. Further investigation is being done."
The identity of the deceased has not been officially disclosed, and Police are working to contact her family and piece together what may have led to the act.
This follows a similar suicide attempt just last month in East Delhi, where a 45-year-old man, Vikas Sharma, jumped from the railing of Mayur Vihar Phase-1 Metro Station despite coordinated efforts by police and emergency services to stop him.
Sharma, a resident of Hauz Khas, was reportedly seen dangling from the station wall around 12.40 pm, drawing a crowd of concerned onlookers. A video that surfaced online captured the harrowing moment before he jumped.
A police officer detailed the rescue efforts: “Information was received from the station controller of the Mayur Vihar-1 metro regarding the man hanging over the side of the road for about half an hour. CISF, Delhi Metro staff, local police, PCR and fire brigade tried to rescue him,” the officer said.
Unfortunately, around 1.40 pm, Sharma jumped and fell to the road below. He was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and later referred to GTB Hospital, where he is currently under treatment.
Authorities recovered a mobile phone, a metro card, Rs 1,370 in cash, and a piece of paper with contact numbers written on it from the man. The motive behind his suicide attempt is yet to be determined.
