PAKISTAN

Pakistan was established on August 14, 1947 after the British India agreed to the demand of The All India Muslim League headed by Mohammed Ali Jinnah. Pakistan is a South Asian nation and is the world's fifth-most populous country. The country has the second-largest Muslim population in the world. The country is a nuclear-powered state.

After its formation Pakistan was opposed to the Soviet Union in the 1950s and became a very close ally of the United States of America. Since 1962 Sino-India war, the relations between Pakistan and China improved. Presently, China has deep economic interests in Pakistan and has also been helping by providing military equipment, including fighter aircraft.

Pakistan has a long-standing border issue with India. Pakistan has unsuccessfully fought battles with India in 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1999.

Pakistan has been giving shelter to dreaded terrorists outfits like Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and others.
