According to the Panchang, Pradosh Vrat is observed on the 13th day of both the Shukla and Krishna Paksha of each month, also known as the Trayodashi Vrat. On this day, the worship of Lord Mahadev and his family is especially significant, as it is believed that by doing so, all problems are eradicated, and happiness and prosperity dwell in one’s life.
Religious scriptures state that Pradosh Vrat is the day to receive Lord Shiva's blessings. If the Lord is worshipped on this day, all fears and anxieties are removed from the devotee’s mind. Additionally, the position of the Moon in the horoscope, which governs the mind, is strengthened.
This year, the Pradosh Vrat will be observed tomorrow on 9th May 2025, which corresponds to the Trayodashi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakh. According to Drik Panchang, "For Pradosham Vrat, day is fixed when Trayodashi Tithi falls during Pradosh Kaal which starts after Sunset. The time window after Sunset when Trayodashi Tithi and Pradosh time overlaps is auspicious for Shiva Puja. "
On this day, the Hast Nakshatra and Vajra Yoga will be formed, along with the Balav and Kaulav Karan. Performing the puja in this combination is believed to bring relief from stress, freedom from debt, profits in business, and good news in one’s romantic life.
