Career
Rohit Sharma joined the Indian national cricket team in 2007 and showed early signs of his extraordinary skill. His ODI debut was on 23rd of June 2007. He debuted in test matches on 6th November 2013 where India played against West Indies.
He showed up in cricket World Cup first time in 2015 and played in eight matches for the team in the same tournament in Australia.
He was appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team on 15th April 2019 for the World Cup match which took place in the same year. He scored 122 runs in the opening match of the Indian cricket team against South Africa. Then he followed it up with centuries against Pakistan, England and Bangladesh and he equalled Tendulkar's record for the most hundreds (6) in all World Cup matches by hitting yet another century in the match against Sri Lanka, making history as the first batter to achieve five centuries in a single World Cup campaign. Sharma became the third Indian player to win the ICC Golden Bat award after finishing as the tournament's top run scorer with 648 runs.
