Schools Closed in Jammu, Punjab & Rajasthan Amid Rising Border Tensions
The decision to shut schools has been taken by Jammu,Rajasthan, Leh and Punjab as a precautionary measure in view of the prevailing security situation.

Schools Closed in THESE States Amid Tension Between India & Pakistan

Punjab government has ordered holiday in all educational institutions for the next three days. It comes in line with the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. In the Union Territory of Chandigarh, authorities declared closure of schools (both government and private) till May 10. Chandigarh, Leh schools will also be closed on May 9, May 10.
In a post on X, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said, "In view of the evolving situation, it is hereby ordered that all schools, colleges and universities -government, private and aided --across entire Punjab shall remain completely closed for the next three days." Earlier the schools and colleges were only closed in the Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Gurdaspur districts of Punjab.
Meanwhile, Punjab is in alert mode with schools in border districts closed and leaves of all police personnel cancelled. Even Panjab University has postponed May 9, 10, 12 exams. Revised dates are yet to be announced.
Haryana School Holiday: All educational institutes including schools and colleges in the Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Gurdaspur districts of Punjab will remain closed till May 11nal institutions in Panchkula will observe holiday on May 9 and May 10.
Leh: The Leh administration on Friday announced that all schools in the district will remain closed on May 9 and 10 in view of the prevailing tensions between India and Pakistan, according to officials.
"All government and private schools in Leh district shall remain closed for the next two days," said Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhdeva.
Schools, Colleges Closed in J&K
All schools, colleges and universities in Jammu and Kashmir have been closed for two days as a precautionary measure. As of schedule announced, the schools will reopen on Monday, May 12. However, students are advised to be in touch with their respective schools for latest update.Rajasthan: The state government has cancelled leave of administrative and police personnel deployed near the International Border and closed schools in five bordering districts.
Government and private schools have been closed in Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Barmer districts as a precautionary measure. Jodhpur colleges are also closed.
