Tesla CEO Elon Musk shared his reaction to the heated exchange between United States President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during their meeting at the White House on Friday. Musk replied to a user's post on the meeting of the two Presidents saying, "Zelenskyy destroyed himself in the eyes of American people."
The confrontation held in the Oval Office saw Trump accusing Zelenskyy of "risking millions of lives" and warning that his actions could potentially lead to World War III.
Trump, along with Vice President JD Vance criticised Zelenskyy for not fully acknowledging the support the US had provided Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia.

The US President said to Zelenskyy, “You're gambling with the lives of millions of people. You're gambling with World War Three. You're gambling with World War Three, and what you're doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that's backed you far more than a lot of people say they should.”
Vance then asked Zelenskyy, “Have you ever said thank you once?” Zelenskyy answered that he had done so many times, to which Vance asked whether he had done so yet during their meeting.
Trump added later, “You have to be thankful; you don’t have the cards. You’re buried there.”
Trump and Vance both told Zelenskyy that he was in a "bad position" in peace talks with Russia.
Zelenskyy responded by questioning Russia’s 2014 invasion of Crimea, but Vance shot back, saying it was disrespectful for Zelenskyy to address such matters in front of the media. “You should be thanking the president for trying to bring you into this conference,” Vance added.
On social media, Musk replied “Accurate” in response to a post about the exchange.
During the meeting, Zelenskyy talked about Ukraine’s struggles in its war with Russia, saying, “From the very beginning of the war, we have been alone and we are thankful.”
Trump countered by referring to US aid, saying, “We gave you — through this stupid president — $350 billion,” a reference to President Joe Biden. Trump added that without US military support, the war would have ended quickly.
After the meeting, Musk posted on X, writing, “Time to find out what really happened to the hundreds of billions of dollars sent to Ukraine.”
Musk also shared a video clip of Trump greeting Zelenskyy at the White House, where Trump quipped, “Oh look, you’re all dressed up,” adding a laughing emoji in his post.
Following the fiery exchange between the leaders, Zelenskyy abruptly left the White House without signing a key minerals agreement, which Trump had implied was necessary for continued US assistance to Ukraine. This was confirmed by a White House spokesperson.
Minutes after his departure from the White House, the Ukrainian president in a post on X said, "Thank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you @POTUS, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that.”
After unprecedented verbal clash in the Oval Office, a joint press conference scheduled between Trump and Zelenskyy in the East Room of the White House was also cancelled.
