Jeanine Pirro is facing fresh scrutiny after an old on-air controversy has resurfaced. The Fox News host was recently named Interim US Attorney for Washington, DC, bringing renewed attention on her past. The scrutiny is centered around a 2020 TV interview which many viewers found suspicious.
In the said episode of Justice With Judge Jeanine, Pirro appeared 15 minutes late, spoke with slurred words, and looked messy. Many viewers on social media accused her of being drunk, pointing to her appearance as proof, Daily Mail reported.
Both Pirro and Fox News denied claims of intoxication, but clips from the show went viral online.
The incident has sparked fresh criticism and reactions on social media. “Trump just named Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro as interim U.S. attorney in D.C. Why not? His administration can't really get any more incompetent. We got a drunk in Defense and now in the Justice Department,” one user posted on X. Another wrote, “Now is the time to commit crime because she’s completely incompetent and a drunk.” A third joked, “Pete Hegseth and Jeanine Pirro already have a Signal Drunk Group Chat going.”

At the time of the interview, Pirro blamed the delay on “technical difficulties.” Fox News defended her, saying the issues in the interview were because of her broadcasting from home. A spokesperson told People, "Jeanine Pirro was broadcasting from her home for the first time when she encountered several technical difficulties which impacted the quality of her show, including the loss of a teleprompter. As we have previously said, we are operating with a reduced staff working remotely to ensure the health and safety of our employees in these unprecedented times."
