Judge Jeanine Pirro has been appointed interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, according to an announcement. The Fox News host and Westchester County District Attorney was praised as a trailblazer in law and television by US President Donald Trump, in his post on Truth Social.

Albert J. Pirro Jr., a New York real estate attorney and Republican fundraiser, was married to Jeanine Pirro for almost 40 years before they divorced in 2013. They have two children together, Christi and Alexander.

Albert Pirro was convicted in 2000 on conspiracy and tax evasion charges after he was found to have improperly claimed $1.2 million in personal expenses as business deductions to reduce his taxes. He was sentenced to 29 months in federal prison and served 17 months before being released.

On January 20, 2021, in one of his final acts as president, Donald Trump granted Pirro a full pardon. The pardon was part of more than 140 last-minute clemency decisions Trump made before leaving office.

Their daughter, Christi Pirro, has built a career in law, working as an attorney and legal clerk in New York. Their son, Alexander Pirro, initially attended law school but later shifted to business, according to Tuko. According to his LinkedIn profile, Alexander graduated from NYU Stern School of Business in 2011 and briefly attended Fordham University School of Law. He currently serves as Vice President at Macquarie Group in New York.

Jeanine Pirro’s has a career that ranges between law, politics, and television. She was the first woman elected as County Judge and District Attorney in Westchester County, where she created the nation’s first Domestic Violence Bureau in a prosecutor’s office. Pirro also gained national fame as the longtime host of Justice with Judge Jeanine and currently co-hosts The Five on Fox News.
