Jailer Actor Vinayakan Arrested Again For Alleged Drunken And Disorderly Conduct At Hotel In Kerala

Malayalam actor Vinayakan, known for playing the villain in Rajinikanth’s hit film Jailer, was arrested in Kerala on Thursday (May 8) for causing a ruckus while allegedly being drunk. The incident took place outside a hotel where the actor had been staying earlier this month. According to reports, he was later released on bail.

As reported by Republic, the actor was taken into custody on May 8 in Anchalummoodu, a town in Kerala, after he allegedly shouted at hotel staff when they asked him to check out. Vinayakan had been staying at the hotel while shooting for a film nearby. When the staff couldn’t calm him down, they contacted the police, who then took him into custody. A case was registered against him under Section 118 (a) of the Kerala Police Act, which deals with being intoxicated in a public place.

Videos of the actor yelling at hotel staff have surfaced on social media. A police official confirmed to Republic that Vinayakan was drunk during the incident. “He was drunk and was shouting at everyone, even the police,” the officer said.

This isn’t the first time Vinayakan has made headlines for inappropriate public behaviour. In September last year, he reportedly clashed with CISF personnel at Kochi airport while on his way to Goa. He was allegedly under the influence during that altercation as well. A video of him grabbed attention in January, where he was seen shouting at a neighbour.

Vinayakan is from Kerala, and he works b the Malayalam and Tamil cinema. He received huge love for his stellar performance in Jailer. He has also appeared in films like Marco and Kammatipaadam. He bagged the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor in 2016 for playing Ganga in Kammatipaadam.
