Loud Explosion Heard In Pakistan's Lahore, Sialkot Day After India's Operation Sindoor

Loud explosions were heard in Lahore on Thursday morning, with the nature of the blasts remaining uncertain. Sirens were also reportedly sounded on Walton Road. According to sources, multiple blasts were heard across the city, heightening concerns amid rising tensions following recent cross-border military actions. This comes a day after the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians.

India, in the early hours of Wednesday carried out strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' at nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The prime targets of the strikes were terror breeding grounds run by Hafiz Saeed-led Lashkhar-e-Taiba and the base camp of Masood Azhar's Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian military targeted Markaz Taiba of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Muridke, Markaz Subhan Allah of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in Bahawalpur, Hizbul Mujahideen's Mehmoona Joya Facility in Sialkot and LeT's base in Markaz Ahle Hadith in Barnala and its camp in Muzaffarabad's Shawai Nalla, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Col Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh briefed media on Wednesday.

According to reports, India's missile strike destroyed 9 Terror Camps — 4 of Jaish-e-Mohammed, 3 of LeT, 2 of Hizbul Mujahideen.

India stated that the actions were "focused, measured and non-escalatory" and that "no Pakistani military facilities or civilians were targeted" under Operation Sindoor. “India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution," the statement read.
