Kamal Haasan Cancels Thug Life Audio Launch After Operation Sindoor: I Believe It Is Not A Time For Celebration

Actor Kamal Haasan, whose film Thug Life is set to hit screens on June 5, has made a new announcement about the film.

The legendary actor has stated that the audio launch of his film Thug Life has been cancelled. The news comes after India's armed forces launched a missile strike with the codename Operation Sindoor.

In a statement Kamal Haasan has said that "In view of the developments at our nation's border and the current state of heightened alert" the makers have decided to cancel the film's audio launch.

His complete statement read "In view of the developments at our nation's border and the current state of heightened alert, we have decided to reschedule the audio launch of Thug Life, originally planned for the 16th of May.

As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defence of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration. A new date will be announced at a later, more appropriate time.

At this time, our thoughts are with the brave men and women of our armed forces who stand vigilant, safeguarding our nation. As citizens, it is our duty to respond with restraint and solidarity. Celebration must make way for reflection."

The Indian Armed Forces on May 7, 2025 launched Operation Sindoor, targetting terrorist infrastructure. Operation Sindoor has come in days after the brutal attack in the tourist region of Baisaran in Pahalgam, in which 26 people were killed on April 22

Following the announcement , MNM Leader and film star Kamal Haasan, expressed his support.

He posted "Taking to his social media account, Kamal Haasan posted "A proud India stands united with its armed forces. This is the resolute response of a strong nation that will not be divided by cowardly acts of terror. I applaud the decisive and strategic military action taken by Government of India. Jai Hind"

Thug Life is an action drama film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote the script with Kamal Haasan. It is jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies. The film stars Haasan, alongside Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan.
